Blue Mountains born and raised, pianist Sam Macken and drummer Kalon Captain share a musical friendship that is at once playful, intuitive, and deeply felt. Over the years they have cultivated a sound that nods to the lyricism and spiritual reach of modern jazz visionaries such as Keith Jarrett, John Coltrane, and Robert Glasper — yet remains unmistakably their own: a thoughtful weaving of modern jazz, folk textures, and resonant spiritual undertones.
